Andrea Chan was born and raised in the sweltering concrete jungle of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She has been writing since she was eight years old, though she lost her heart to poetry at the much later age of 18 — and she hasn’t looked back since. She transferred to the University of Iowa to complete her B.A. in English Literature, and promptly hightailed it out of the U.S. prior to the 2016 elections.
She now teaches English and Creative Writing in Buenos Aires while she simultaneously tries to finish writing a poetry collection. Her body is sustained by empanadas and tinto, though she does love to cook and is seriously wondering where in Barrio Chino she could possibly unearth a cache of lemongrass.
